Second pair of Yeezys has been added to the collection! These Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 Waverunner dropped a couple of times in limited quantities before finally having a wider release!
This shoe is one that some people theorize helped kick start the “dad shoe” wave. A cool feature on these is the minimal branding – the Adidas 3 stripes are hidden until you shine flash on the side panel and trigger the 3M reflection!
For a shoe with as many colors as this pair has, the grey, white and black tones still dominate the shoe. Thus, what seems like a quirky pick actually is quite flexible on outfits! Pair these with almost any color jeans or pants and they somehow work! In terms of tops, match up with the grey, white or black and you have an easy fit that looks sharp and still shows the shoe off.
Second Yeezys and I couldn’t be happier! This shoe is just quirky enough to be interesting, without being so loud that they are hard to wear. Now that these are a little more widely available, I’m very seriously considering doubling up, even at the high retail price point… In any case, if you haven’t given these a chance yet, I highly suggest taking advantage of them now being easier to attain.
How Are The Materials?
The materials range in quality here but are overall very good. The grey suede areas seem to be a bit softer to the touch than the black suede. A grey tumbled leather and plenty of mesh and 3M hits round out the materials. Overall the paneling, quality and attention to detail definitely explain the higher retail price, especially when paired with the big boost packed into the midsole.
How Do They Fit?
The Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 Waverunner fit great at my true Adidas size, or half size down from Nike size. These fit close to other Adidas retro runners but with a wide base that keeps these nice and comfy. Overall, I’d say this is one of the more comfortable shoes I own. Even though the shoe is fairly chunky, it still packs a nice pointy toe for the retro runner aesthetic to shine through in a strong way.
